Again, the Videologists have outdone themselves with this video of Chris Berman absolutely losing it on Monday Night Football. They say no one knows why this video has suddenly surfaced eight years after it happened. Am not naming names, but can tell ya, this kind of thing happens more often than you may think. TV can be a fairly intense business ... ;) Fair warning: Explicit language.
Here's one of the best kept secrets on the Internet & the fastest way to catch the "Must See" moments from TV in the last 24 hrs. From the funny late-night TV joke right after you fell asleep, to the cliffhanger you missed. These guys are ALL over it. Is really impressive how they pull it together. It's one of the few sites I visit daily. You'll be surprised how much more "with it" you feel in 5 simple clicks ...
A lot of controversy this year about the accuracy of political polling and how off it's been, look no further than New Hampshire & by the hour, Pennsylvania. Now people are starting to look at Internet polls. It's always interesting to look at online polls like the HUGE number of votes garnered in the daily HOT SEAT poll which you can actually "snag" & post on your site. With hundreds of thousands of votes on any given day, it's fun to see how your own opinion matches up on a percentage base. In total, you've got to think these polls might -- arguably -- be one of the better barometers of public opinion and perhaps a precursor to what will really ends up happening in the general election. The new Hot Seat phenomenon has garnered such attention, even Barack Obama has personally responded to some of the poll results.
This week we're highlighting Stylelist.com on-air & online ...
Looks like it's all about the oversized clutch; bangs; grey (the new beige) & purple (the new black); & doing your nails if you can't afford any of the above;)!
Angelina Jolie's $1,195 eye candy purse by UK specialty designer (actually not over-the-top expensive by celeb standards), and then you click through a slideshow of similar styles, colors -- including a tote available at Target.com for $19.99. At a $1,175 savings, that certainly delivers on the "Look for Less" promise!
The site features things similar to what you see in magazines, but immediately actionable. If you're a bargain bee & enjoy the hunt ... or if you're aspiring bargain bee who needs -- don't we all -- to start being a little more thrifty, this site is worth a stop. These flats would be adorable on my sister & daughter .... Linking to OldNavy.com for $11.70! .. - R
As discussed on radio this week, if you've ever been around Disney stars & their handlers, you know they run a tight ship. So, THIS must be a calculated decision to let Miley be Miley along with her best friend Mandy Jiroux as she transitions from having a 7-9 year old following to maintaining & building pre-teen & teen fans.
The antics are pure 15-year-old. According to People Magazine, Miley does the editing. In other words, it's pretty much what every other teen girl you may know is doing -- except the beds they're jumping on are at the Four Seasons and the snacks they're pigging out on are on a private plane vs back of the station wagon. Otherwise, same, same.
Will say this ... Miley probably has 18 months tops before hanging out in bed with your girlfriend is going to have a whole different connotation & be the kind of viral video that cultivates the wrong kind of fan base. I hope she & everyone who works with her gets this & doesn't learn the hard way.
See what you think. As with the Hannah Montana concert, you may want to adjust the volume DOWN ...
This year, over 250,000 college students will go away on Spring Break, but they may not be as "away" as they may think. Parents who want to keep an eye on just how hot the action is getting, can go high-tech by tapping into beach web cams. EarthCam.com offers links to live views of popular Spring Break destinations like Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Fort Lauderdale and Daytona Beach. Kids who want to get psyched for the trip, can also check them out.
The cameras aren't really intended to "spy" on your kids, but they'll give you a good idea of the kind of festivities going on. Brace yourself! I showed one mom this weekend & her reaction summed it up well, "I'm nervous & jealous!"
This is one sure does give you an inside look at which households are writing checks to support candidates & how much they're writing them for. Looks like I've got some generous friends, neighbors & colleagues;)
These days, of course, many people aren't writing checks, they're donating online with one click. You can even sign up to give an amount on a recurring basis (i.e. $50 a month). To see who is up to this, you can search by street address, zip code, or company name.
Arianna Huffington's site is quick to point of some celebrities are playing both sides of the fence, supporting multiple candidates. And Huff Post suggests you can use this clever tool to find out if the new guy you're dating is really a Republican or just dresses like on.e Not that I would ever do such a thing;)

You hear so much about PAC money & lobbyists. This site (www.opensecrets.org) has a giant database and breaks it all down into graphs & pie charts indicating where the money is coming from. From House & Senate Leadership to the Presidential candidates, it's all here in a round-up similar to something you might have for your own personal finances. They even grade the level of disclosure. Clinton & McCain seem to be piling up some serious debt.
www.techpresident.com – How the Candidates are Using the Web & How the Web is Using Them. This site with a clever tagline tracks how the web affects the election, complete with running tallies of Facebook and YouTube popularity, as well as candidate website traffic. Lately, Obama is reportedly leaving Hillaryin the dust. This video could prove to be the TechPresident tipping point.
For years, I was an Imus fan. Am also big on Chris Matthews & have read most of his books. He looks like he's feeling well, which is terrific. Lately, I've found myself watching Morning Joe on MSNBC. Joe as in Scarborough. Today, Pat Buchanan is on fire. He is a terrific contributor & lovely guy off-camera having met him in green room when he had similar role at CNN. Morning Joe is a show worth checking out if you get a chance ... Here's the website . Great to see Mika Brzezinski & Erin Burnett involved as well.
It'll be an exciting week on TV. My significant other & I watch a lot of it together. It's interesting to see how men & women watch differently. I notice things like how the candidates families interact & the speech content (my first job included working with some esteemed political speech writers), he watches the #'s & how the percentages change, doing the math in his head as the results unfold.
We'll see what this week's #'s are. In the meantime, the HOT SEAT is certainly heating up.
Such an amazing game! If you happened to step out of the room last night & missed one of the ads, they're all here organized by quarter: SUPER BOWL AD GALLERY. Looks like Budweiser did it again -- the ROCKY Clydesdale ad is ranked #1. Personally, though the eTrade baby was a riot & both ads make the TOP TEN LIST. And, you can't help but root for the Unibrow girl ... ;)
This classic Will Ferrell clip from a few years ago is making the rounds online. Will bursts in on the CNBC Power Lunch set to announce some erroneous, yet hilarious, financial news ... Seems he has a thing for Sue Herrera! There's even an appearance by John McEnroe. Check it out ...
