Clocky

Clocky

Needless to say, mommy has to wake up pretty early for morning TV & Radio, so am always a wreck about alarm clocks. Currently I use the alarm on my iPhone. And, last year we were not tardy to school even once. Not once! Am pretty proud of that. But, should we have trouble keeping our streak going, this back-to-school gadget struck me as clever. Here's the product description: Don't be late for your first class! If you've ever had trouble waking up with a regular alarm clock, it's time to meet Clocky. Clocky is the uniquely designed mobile alarm clock that is guaranteed to get you on your feet. It gives you one chance to get up, but if you snooze, Clocky will jump off of your nightstand and wheel around your room looking for a place to hide. Mischievous and loud, Clocky is both hands-down adorable and surprisingly effective.

- 19% choose vacation spots with access to email

Complaints Choir

Friday, July 25, 2008

Now, this was news to me ... Seems complaining is a universal language. We'll be talking about it with Gordon Deal on WSJ Radio also carried on XM Radio. Seems there's some disgruntled singers in Chicago who think "the city is under surveillance," "people brag about knowing famous people" & apparently, "only tourists like deep dish pizza." I beg to differ on the last one;) Here's how to pull this off in your own area, if you're so inclined.

The Complaints Choir invites people to complain as much as they want and to sing their complaints out loud together with fellow complainers. The first choir was organized in Birmingham followed by the Complaints Choir of Helsinki and Hamburg.

It was a pleasure and privilege to speak with Mario Solis Marich -- if only briefly -- on his popular radio program.

If you're looking to builld, maintain, and cultivate an online reputation or fanbase, playing your online cards right is a "Must Do." Love the fact Mario "gets" & does "it" to say the least! He's a pretty wired guy. See: www.GoToMario.Com . Impressive.

According to a recent survey, and as reported for Fox 5 DC, nearly half of all college students describe themselves as feeling so depressed they couldn't function during the past school year. Even more say they've faced an emotional problem of some sort.

Perhaps it's time to make sure young people are mentally prepared for the upcoming school year ...

Enter, new website halfusus.com, produced by MTVu and college student suicide non-profit The Jed Foundation.

The site name is catchy, compelling & telling.

Hopefully there's benefits to students finding mental health support and hearing celebrities like Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan and Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz open up about up about abuse and life-altering related topics.

Pastors' Wives: "Before He Speaks" *** Carrie Underwood Knock-Off

Thursday, June 5, 2008
I've often wondered what it must be like to be a pastor's wife. Suspect little like being first-lady of sorts ... This variation on the Carrie Underwood "Before He Cheats" song really strikes a chord. Know several pastor wives ... Will forward this to them to get their take. In the meantime, if nothing else, it looks like these women from the Florida Hospital SDA Church in Orlando decided they were tired of having their latest household fiasco show up in sermon illustrations. The excerpts are a riot ... In my first-hand experience pastors really do use the
My wife & I ..... " as opening line a lot.

Here's the "Before He Speaks" parody rendition:

The Political HOT SEAT

Are Huge Online Polls Telling? Can that many People be Wrong?

A lot of controversy this year about the accuracy of political polling and how off it's been, look no further than New Hampshire & by the hour, Pennsylvania. Now people are starting to look at Internet polls. It's always interesting to look at online polls like the HUGE number of votes garnered in the daily HOT SEAT poll which you can actually "snag" & post on your site. With hundreds of thousands of votes on any given day, it's fun to see how your own opinion matches up on a percentage base. In total, you've got to think these polls might -- arguably -- be one of the better barometers of public opinion and perhaps a precursor to what will really ends up happening in the general election. The new Hot Seat phenomenon has garnered such attention, even Barack Obama has personally responded to some of the poll results.

Click to check out today's poll question.
