The behind-the-scenes conversation in the broadcast control room around social networking is a riot. Seems everyone struggles with friend requests. You can ignore them. In my mind, if you start accpeting invitations from people you don't really know, you're compromising the integrity of your network & it actually makes the whole thing less valuable. Kind of like the best parties aren't neccessarily the biggest. They're the ones with just the right mix & where you know everyone's name.

I totally agree. I have made it a rule on my facebook account to only have on there the people that I actually know. It's now a way to keep up to date with family across the country and real friends old and new. I never have to worry about spam, or cringe at what my page may say, because I have handpicked my network.
