As discussed on WSJ Radio this morning, am really impressed with the evolving role of cellphones & the Internet in emergencies. Having covered this angle around Sept 11 & the NYC Blackout + Katrina, it's striking to see carries effectively re-routing traffic; text messaging becoming a clutch application & blogs, the Red Cross "Safe & Well" database & even Twitter becoming real-time realities.
