Everyone gets a few good shots & only one person seems to ever do anything with them. Am making this up, but you get the idea ... We can all trade photos online, but it gets messy -- you have some from your sister; you've got your own; someone sent some you couldn't open; another person who had a camera at the event, never sent them .... All of this is why
Mixbook is a refreshing approach. You can collaborate online with all of your friends and family to collectively create a comprehensive album. Someone should still take the lead (some things never change), but it's a great way to get to the finish line faster & making sure you're capturing "all the good ones."

Hi,
The idea is pretty cool but I'm NOT into wasting money (I'm dirt poor). I prefer the following FREE picture sites:
http://www.photobucket.com/
http://www.momentsharing.com/
I know they DON'T offer the cobine book feature but you can copy pictures from other users into your picture file. Thus creating the combined book. You might get more contributions from other friends and relatives by using a FREE SITE. Your readers might even want to use the FREE SITE along with the MIXBOOK.COM site. That way they get the BEST of all worlds.

PS WWW.BraveNet.Com is a GREAT FREE hosting site. They could use a home page on that site to provide links to all the photosites they use. I know I hate looking up web sites, so I use my home page to remember the sites I visit every day.
