Fancy Flip Flops & Open Toe Shoes

Thursday, September 13, 2007

You've got to dress up for TV -- at least on top depending on the shot. If it's a satellite shot for CNN or FOX & they're not zooming in, you can literally have sweatpants on & no one will notice. When you're in-studio on a stool or in an armchair or couch, it's a top-to-bottom deal. It's best to be ready for both (have learned the hard way). One time I had to borrow a blazer from Mika. Another time, the wardrobe woman at CBS lent me her shoes;)

The problem is, once I lose that "TV look" (which needs help as it is), default to jeans & flips flops. Apparently, this is a faux pas at the office even if the flip flops "cost $100 & are adorned with jewels." Check in those two boxes:) Am feeling guilty for not keeping up a more professional look off-camera. Starting today, I pledge to wear closed-toe shoes & to dry my hair (somehow/someway) before going to the office.

In fact, here are a few options (just click on the shoe for more info) might make this decision a little more compelling. Some of them are open-toe. I'd say that's fair game. Agree?
